The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward to find answers.

Both of the wolves were collared and found dead in different parts of Hyde County. The first was found on April 23rd in the Eastern part of the county. The second was found on April 27th in the Western part of the county.

The USFWS are investigating the deaths, and while the investigating agent couldn’t offer any details, there is a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.

North Carolina is home to over 100 of the highly endangered wolves.
