How many are a wolf worth? Hunters in idaho can buy a chance to participate in a contest to kill as many of Idaho’s predators as they can to win prizes

With three different dates to participate, ending in January of 2010, hunters can pay $50 a piece for a BBQ dinner, and, of course, the chance to participate in the “Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife” derby of predator killing.

According to their officially published rules, coyotes, bobcats and foxes are worth two points a piece, whereas wolves are worth three. The team with the most points at the end of the weekend wins.

The funds supposedly support the Idaho Sportsmen’s Wolf Litigation Fund – which was something I couldn’t actually find reference to anywhere but the website of the group running these events.

Not only can the top three teams win undisclosed prizes, Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife also suggest they will offer prizes for heaviest coyote, among others.
