Washington wildlife officials are scouting for what could be the state’s third breeding wolf pack after a gray wolf pup recently was caught in Pend Oreille County near the Canada border.

A breeding pair of the highly endangered wolves are settling in to their new homes at the Tacoma Zoo.

Wenatchee World is reporting that the alpha female of the pack which was the first to make it’s home in Washington state in 70 years has gone missing.
