Howling Acres Wolf Sanctuary is closing its doors, and looking to place it’s 20 animals, after the owners are buried under medical debt.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced grants will be going to livestock producers to fund non-lethal wolf management projects to reduce conflicts with the apex predator.

According to Oregon Department Fish and Wildlife biology Pat Matthews a wolf pack composed of 10 wolves are now confirmed to be residing in Wallowa County.
