USFWS extends public comment period for gray wolf delisting

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has extended the public comment period until October 28, allowing the public to offer opinions on two rules which would remove wolves from the Endangered Species List.

The Obama administration proposed removing the protections for America’s gray wolves in June of this year. Only the critically endangered Mexican Gray wolf would be excluded.

They also added public hearings in irrelevant locations – meaning Washington DC (Sept. 30), Sacramento (Oct. 2), and Albuquerque (Oct. 4) – it would have been nice to see the hearings in somewhere like right here in Colorado since we could potentially actually be home to wolves at some point.

Find out more about the proposed rule changes and details about the public hearings.
