Minn. Supreme Court refuse to block wolf hunt without comment

The Minnesota Supreme Court has decided against blocking the state’s wolf hunt, scheduled to begin November 3.The emergency motion was submitted to the court by the Center for Biological Diversity and Howling for Wolves.

The reason given for the motion was that the Department of Natural Resources failed to follow proper procedures when taking public comments. The DNR has disputed this claim.

The plans for the hunt will lead to the death of 400 wolves, out of the estimated 3,000 wolf population, using hunting and trapping.

The court rejected the motion without comment.
