Introduction

Spring slipped into summer without fanfare or much of a change. The temperatures were still very mild and we continued to get anywhere between one and three inches of rain per week. This was outstanding and we totally attribute it to our request of you to pray for moisture.

Of course it couldn’t last forever and we are now getting our normally high temps for summer and no rain for the last 3 weeks. However the monsoon season is starting and we are hoping for more rain.

This update is going to be purposely short as most of the exciting news is being covered in one of the articles in this edition.

The Waltz was a huge success and we had a great time to boot (see page 12 of the PDF).

Whisper changed our mood a month later, when she returned to spirit on July 14 (see page 4).

Isabeau continues to be our “wild child” and had a dispute with Sasha, who is also in the running for the top Alpha Female position (see page 8).

The most consuming and stressful events of the last quarter all revolved around the shuffling of animals to take advantage of our new habitats (see page 2).

This also included bringing Frackette and Beowulf to the Sanctuary from their foster home (see page 11 and the centerfold).

Our major challenge for the next several quarters, if not years, will focus on getting fire dens built in all our habitats (see page 12). With your help it will go much faster.

Our Educational Programs Team has been very busy as well, traveling all over Northern Colorado to give presentations. One was even at venue that included the sighting of moose, which everyone was excited about.

The team is also getting ready for a very busy Fall that includes a number of Public Events where we will have information tables. Please go to our web site for the details. The listing is under the “News” button from the home page. Then click on “Upcoming Events”
