State firms up wolf-management framework

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission gave state wildlife officials several directives regarding wolf management at a meeting Thursday in Lewiston, according to a department press release.

The instructions are largely in line with the state’s past approach to handling wolves. They include managing the predators in a way that will keep oversight from returning to the federal government, and controlling the population where it conflicts with domestic animals, humans or game animals such as elk.
