Woof! Montana museum exhibit looks at man’s best friend

“This is one crazy dog town,” Krauss joked at Cruzado’s inauguration this month.

Everyone who’s dog crazy is sure to be interested in the newest exhibit at the Museum of the Rockies.

“Wolf to Woof: The Story of Dogs,” opening Saturday, explains the history of dogs, their evolution, what makes them unique and how “man’s best friend” came to be.

There are 35 different species of wild dogs – including foxes, jackals and coyotes. But DNA studies show that all of today’s domestic dogs descend from just one canine species — the wild wolf…
