Minnesota wants wolf off the endangered species list

Star Tribune (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn) – 

The gray wolf should immediately be removed from the federal government’s endangered and threatened species list and returned to state management, according to a petition filed Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR asked the U.S. Department of the Interior to decide within 90 days.

The endangered designation makes it illegal for Minnesota landowners to kill wolves caught preying upon livestock, pets or guard animals…
