According to a post on Ralph Maughan’s well-known wolf advocacy blog, the wolf confiscated by officials from an Idaho woman – who sought to see the wolf counted towards the state’s quota - had been left to rot where it was shot.

Photos distributed of a wolf in Bozeman, Montana turns out to be just an Alaskan Malamute, who was promptly adopted after getting picked up by animal control officers.

Idaho officials are not fooled when a local woman tries a plan to influence the quota count through subterfuge.

The wolf pack which may have taken up residence on High Lonesome Ranch would become fully protected by the Endangered Species Act.

The Utah House passes S.B. 36, which would strike a devastating blow to any future chances of wolves returning to the state.

Christensen’s bill, SB 36, continues to move forward and the future for wolves in Utah looks more bleak.

Disappointment and frustration combined following the release of numbers which suggest that there are now only 42 – down 10 from last year’s numbers – Mexican Gray Wolves wild in Arizona and New Mexico after another rough year for the troubled reintroduction program.

Wolves may be back in Colorado!

One DNA test is all that is left to confirm that wolves have finally returned to Colorado – their historical homeland – according to a rancher who believes a pack has taken up residence on his property.

The sixth wolf hunting zone has closed in Idaho after the quota was met, but dozens more wolves are earmarked for extermination.
