While six wolf hunting zones in Idaho have been closed, six more remain open, and 73 more wolves are required to be killed before Idaho’s wolf hunt finally ends.

The Middle Fork hunting zone was the most recently closed, which marked the 147th wolf killed for the year so far.

The wolf-hunting season was extended to March 31, 2010 (taking it in to wolf breeding season) and the quota for the year’s hunt is 220.

Wolves controlled by the state are not counted towards the quota – however illegally killed wolves are.
