Bonner County prosecutors have dropped all charges against Russell Frachiseur, who shot a wolf he claimed was acting strangely.

The prosecutors said they believed that Fachiseur had a viable defense, according to The Spokesman-Review.

It seems a little unlikely however, as the original story, and the information which caused Idaho’s Department of Fish of Game to press for charges, stated that the small wolf was over 150 yards away from Frachiseur and his dogs.

Idaho’s laws allow for people to kill predators in self-defense, or in the defense of livestock and pets. You can draw your own conclussions.
